Marlene Rodriguez is a singer songwriter who blends classic jazz influence with a modern, funk-pop sound. Originally from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Marlene is currently a senior studying sound recording technology and jazz/commercial vocal performance at Syracuse University.

Marlene has been singing for as long as she can remember and started performing in musical theatre productions at an early age. Today, that background feeds her interest in sound design and board operation for theatrical productions. She began writing songs around age 13, and she now arranges and produces her own music

Marlene makes music you can move to and think about. Her songs begin at her piano and grow into full arrangements, blending funk-pop melodies with jazzy vocals, and songwriting about love and loss. She writes PopFunk, Pop, and Soul, with inspiration from Earth, Wind & Fire, Willow, and Rachelle Ferrell.
